CLASSES

If for any reason I have to alter or cancel classes I will post a warning here. It doesn?t happen very often and I will, of course, inform my regular students but if you are coming for the first time in a while it might pay to check here first...

  • No class Thursday 15th January 2015 as the Sports Hall we use at the King Alfred is being re-floored. See below for alternative activity!
  • Peter Ballam, one of my main teachers, holds regular workshops on the first Saturday of each month. Venue: Forest School Gym, Comptons Lane, Horsham RH13 5NW 2.00 - 5.00 pm ?5 per hour. GUIDE TO T'AI CHI

From the guardian newspaper, Tuesday 24/05/2011. I'm not sure about it 'encouraging a smooth circulation of energy and eliminating imbalances' whatever it may mean but at least that was under the section 'What is it meant to do' (my italics). I know a lot of people like to believe in this sort of nonsense but just remember the chi in T'ai Chi is NOT the 'vital energy' supposedly enhanced by Chi Kung  and other 'internal alchemies', it is a completely different Chinese character meaning 'ultimate'. It should now be written as taiji to make the difference clear. Anyway have a look at Dr. Luisa Dillner's guide to T'ai Chi and see what you think of the evidence. It does seem to do you good!

THINKING OF TAKING UP T'AI CHI?

If you are thinking of taking up T'ai Chi why not start THIS week. Remember, your second class is free, so come along and see if it suits you.

For my contact details just look at my Flyer. It is a leaflet aimed at unfit sceptics looking for something more than the latest exercise fad to get them into shape.

COMING EVENTS

Chinese New Year - To celebrate the coming Year of the Goat and the re-flooring of Sports Hall 2 at The King Alfred we are going for a meal on Thursday 15th January. Let me know if you want to come.

Horsham T'ai Chi Camp May 2015: As usual Peter will be hosting this event on the early May Bank Holiday Weekend with Dan Docherty. A great opportunity to meet and learn from the head of our style. Click for more details....
